Roasted Bentonite Granules

Roasted bentonite granules are a widely used, high-absorbency, and chemically inert material primarily used as a carrier for agricultural and industrial products. They are available from numerous manufacturers and suppliers, particularly in the Gujarat region of India.

Key Properties & Applications

Roasted bentonite granules undergo high-temperature processing (around 700°C) which fundamentally alters their structure, resulting in a sterile, hard, and highly absorbent material.

    Properties :
  • Enhanced Absorption Capacity :
The roasting process significantly increases the surface area and porosity, allowing the granules to absorb and retain a high amount of liquid active ingredients (up to 20% mass by mass) while remaining free-flowing.
  • Chemical Inertness & Sterility :
High heat makes the granules chemically inert, preventing unwanted reactions with the products they carry (like pesticides or fertilizers) and increasing shelf life.
  • Controlled Release :
When the granules come into contact with water in the soil, they release the active ingredients slowly over a long period, reducing the chance of washout in heavy rain.
  • Dust-Free Handling :
They are dust-free, which improves safety during handling and processing in industrial applications.
  • Soil Amendment :
As a natural clay product, bentonite helps improve soil structure, aeration, moisture retention, and nutrient availability.
